Welcome to the team, Arve)
We had a little chat with Arve, read the portrait here:
Who are you?
42 years old and employed as Supply Chain Manager. Has previously worked as a strategic buyer (purchasing manager) at group level in Perfect Temrature Group AS, which is Norway's leading refrigeration group.
Prior to this, I worked for 16 years in Rolls-Royce, now called Bergen Engines AS. There I started in production before I later started in the service department and finally in the purchasing department.
Of education, I am working on a Master's (MBA) at Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and hope to finish this during the next year. Is and certified in Lean six Sigma through Rolls-Royce at green belt level.
What do you work with?
Been in this job for 4 weeks and have used this time to learn more about the company, our systems and met colleagues.
At the same time, I have looked at the contracts and suppliers we have to see where the shoe presses the most.
What is exciting about the job is being able to get better supplier agreements, flow in the supply chain and better control over the equipment and goods we have.
Passionate about Lean six sigma, so being able to identify and implement improvements that positively impact the bottom line is exciting.
We are in an industry with low margins, so there are high demands on efficient operations and that we use internal resources in the best possible way.
What project are you on now and how is it going?
I am not dedicated to a specific project but have started to look at and become involved in the choice of a new ERP system. This is something we must put in place as soon as possible in order for us to have better control and flow of goods.
What do you dream of?
Dreams of getting the best possible supply chain in StS-ISONOR AS.đ
