Meet Martin Tattersall-ISO engineer

Martin Tattersall started his career in the Skien department back in 2009, in what was then called Norisol. Martin is a skilled and sought-after employee, resulting in him spending most of his time as a hired ISO engineer to our customers.

We had a little chat with Martin, who in recent years has been hired out to Aker Solutions working as a lead insulation engineer in Fornebu.

I take pride in my work and want to ensure high quality and happy customers. It is exciting to work in an industry where there is a lot of competence and experience, I have been fortunate to work with some excellent mentors in the industry and have learned a lot.

Working with different projects is exciting we are always learning and developing on the experience we have so far, especially how material development and software can improve our work and standards.

Working closely with technical safety / process / piping, instruments, architect and material disciplines gives a deeper insight and understanding into why our work and industry standards are so important.

What project are you on now and how is it going?

Johan Castberg FPSO was towed recently northwards from Stord to the Barent Sea after many years of great teamwork with some insulation challenges and work still ongoing.

It is engineerings responsibility to support Equinor and provide the right solutions quickly in line with contract and project requirements which we have done well so far with positive feedback.

The FPSO is currently being hooked up at the Johan Castberg field, 100km northwest of the Snøhvit field.

What do you dream of?

I hope to continue to work on new exciting projects where my experience and skills can add value.

I want to continue to learn, share the experience I have and look forward to meeting new people with similar goals working in this industry as well as working with some familiar faces and great colleagues again.
