About the Coastal Culture Centre

Bergen Municipal Coastal Culture Centre is located in old protected boathouses in Sandviken in Bergen!

It is owned by Bergen Municipality, and is run by Bergen Municipal Coastal Culture Centre AS- which is a wholly owned municipal limited company.

The Coastal Culture Centre is a cultural centre with a variety of coastal cultural activities.

Scope of work

Roof over Roof job in connection with the restoration of roofs, walls and replacement of poor materials. It is a large and complicated job that we solve with good people with a focus on safety!

Inspection and measurement

After inspection and measurement, we have used 3D modelling to calculate and plan the design of the roof. This was then assessed by our subject manager Terje Snarberg. The result is a complete parts list that helps ensure that we have the right number of the right components available. This is how we get the assignment done correctly and efficiently.

Listed building

This is a building worthy of preservation - where special considerations must be taken. Access is complicated - there is a lot of traffic in the area that requires a number of barriers that pose logistical challenges. We have good routines for this.

Large span

There will be a large span on the roof - therefore there will be too much pressure down into the ground from the spires - there must be reinforcements made in the ground. We have solved this by using pillows/underlays to distribute weight. A crane must be used to hoist the roof structure into place - this requires space that is scarce in the area. The operation must be done in several steps. Instead of preparing the entire roof structure in one operation - the job must be divided into several smaller operations.
